Re: Paul's Ride

Post by paul on Tue Apr 21, 2009 10:16 am

I guess I didn't need it for the plan i have for the car. The car won' t be revving over 8000rpm so the flow with the stock manifold would be more than sufficient.

If i were to stick to N/A, i wouldn't sell it off. Plus, the civic type R pistons are heavy to start with. I might benefit more with integra type R pistons with less dome height.

My plan for N/A last time was:
1- ITR manifold + TB
2- 340cc injectors
3- ITR pistons 84.5mm
4- Skunk2 Pro Series Stage 2
5- Supertech valve spring with Ti retainers
6- Hondata S300
7- ACT clutch system
8- Rebuilt carbon synchro's on my J1 transmission
9- B18c block resleeved with JGE iron ductile sleeves

Those are the basic needs that i plan to make 210hp revved to 8500rpm. I may get more but keeping it realistic, 210hp is the aim.

Now the plan is different hehe because of the cost involved. Power to get by turbo is cheaper hehe plus its more fun in the low end.

Nope... its whats needed to make 200 outta b18 stroked to 2 litre hehe. To get the b16a to 200 takes quite a bit too.

Hope to make it my daily after its all finished. See how reliable is the tuning first and then will decide whether it'll be my daily or not. If I can't the tuning to be right, then i'll have to budget for a tuning session done by a pro. I've never tuned a boosted car before so it'll be a learning session for me.

Coz tuner thailand atu hehe well you know who, macam payah i mean susah ia kan buat barang/tuning atu,pro pulang tapi when it comes to normal car that rarely been tune/modify datang tia paning nya hehe,i know its hard hehe tapi they shud know coz iatah job title nya tu. A pro/specialist in tuning."

No lah, i don't plan to spend that much. A conservative tuning would be more than sufficient, even if it means running 13.8 at part throttle. As long as the cylinder pressure is kept at its minimum or detonation for that matter, i'll still be happy coz i got boost. I just target having 11.5 @ 7-8psi full throttle.

Hope that it wouldn't blow saja lah. If the b20 blows, then back to the b16a lah and boost that one up until it blows again haha....

Payah nyamo mun engine dua tiga buting ani haha.

just installed my old exhaust yesterday. I totall forgot how free flowing the exhaust was till yesterday. Engine was more responsive and free revving. Yang cali nya baru jua ku keluar simpang ada tia silvia s15 mengatil. And i was happy coz i was able to be on its tail on the dash.. Cant wait to get another baseline..

Nada lah, it was my old sheepdog exhaust. I don't plan on buying another exhaust unless its broken lah. The design is what i like... nanti i'll take the pics and upload how it looks like.

LSD? Liat lah dulu, there was a plan but i didn't budget for it since the car is still controllable. Just need a set of new suspension coz baru ku sadar yesterday keta atu tingkai sebalah...

Hi Viozdevil,

Initially the plan for the project is to finish by June 09 but my budget was used up to some other areas thats a necessity. Might take a few months more to finish. New target is to complete by August 09.

Regarding your power loss, it might not require overhaul coz i'm sure the 1nzfe is a reliable engine. You might overlook some areas such as your ignition coils, spark plugs and fuel filter. Get those replace first since its the basic necessity.. You do know that overhauling the engine is expensive... start with the basic's first. Its easy to conclude if you have an internal problem i.e. knocking, white smokes, bluish smoke and i'm sure its none of the one i've stated...
